Mustangs for Kids celebrate the money they raised at last year’s dance marathon “for the kids”

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – As the holiday season rolls around, many Mustangs know this is a time for giving. Mustangs for Kids (MFK) is an organization which does exactly that.

MFK’s main goal is to donate all of the money they raise to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, hoping to give back this season and throughout the year.  Last year the club’s dance marathon raised over $6000.

Despite their achievements, MFK is not a commonly known club around the Ranch. They are very successful and have held a variety of fundraisers such as car washes and selling discount cards.

Most recently they have just participated in the candy cane gram fundraiser where students had the option to request a delivery to a classmate during their first or seventh period.

Senior Connor Murray said, “Our main goal for MFK this year is to raise over $10,000 for children at Shriner’s Children Hospital who are in need of prosthetic limbs.”

Murray’s future goal is to surpass his previous fundraising achievements and gain more participants as well.

In the future, MFK will host a car wash located at Ace Hardware on Jan. 12, along with its next dance marathon scheduled for Jan. 26. The entree fee will be $20.
