(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Recently, an informal poll was taken of Mustangs of different grade levels. The question asked was “Would you rather spend Christmas in the snow or on the beach?”

As votes quickly came in, the popularity between spending it on the beach or in the snow went back in forth multiple times.

At the end of it all, though, the option voted on most was snow at 76% and the beach received 24%.

Freshman here at the Ranch voted on beach, as well as sophomores.

As for both juniors and seniors, the choice of spending Christmas in the snow was more appealing.

More juniors, over 300, voted than any other grade level.

“I have spent Christmas in the snow and on the beach. I like the snow better because it sets the Christmas mood. I am so used to spending it in the heat, that a change for the snow is always something to look forward too,” said junior Olivia Benson.

For this upcoming Christmas, many students said will be staying in Florida, as only a handful will be traveling out of state, mainly to see family.

On Christmas day, Florida weather averages a high of 74 degrees and a low of 54. For places like Illinois, Michigan and Iowa, that is not the case.

Weather predicts that it will be a white,  extremely cold holiday up North.

Junior Julia Hatton said, “I prefer the snow, only because I am used to it. I have only spent two Christmases in Florida, and it’s just not the same.”
