The 2018-19 LRHS cheerleaders celebrate school spirit

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Last weekend, the LRHS cheer program competed in Tampa, Florida at the Central Florida Regional cheer competition. The junior varsity (JV) and varsity teams both competed at regionals.

Varsity had one deduction but finished in the top five and earned a bid for nationals.

JV also placed top five and also earned a bid for nationals. This is the first year LRHS’s cheer program will attend nationals. Nationals is scheduled for February 8-10 in Orlando.

The LRHS varsity team had a one-point deduction.  In cheerleading, zero deductions mean that there were no major mistakes. These mistakes happen when there are falls in stunting or any tumbling skills done incorrectly. JV was very proud to receive zero deductions.

Sophomore Madison Forman said, “I am very proud of the team and all they have accomplished. I think we will be very successful at nationals.”
