lakewood leaders logo 2018(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Leaders currently has over 200 members that have to volunteer at a minimum of two events per semester.  It’s been a successful and beneficial club to LRHS throughout the years.

So far this year, the club has helped at Hunsader Farms’ annual Pumpkin Festival in October. The event was a huge success and it helped raise money for various charities such as All Children’s Hospital and Children’s Dream Fund.

Not all events go as according to plan, however. Math teacher Meghan Sugalski, the club sponsor said, “We have found ourselves in a situation where we have enough volunteers, but then some do not show up and leave an event short staffed.”

Lakewood Leaders is a great club for students who need to collect volunteer hours for Bright Futures scholarships or who want to stay connected to the Lakewood Ranch community. Volunteering benefits those in need and those who go and help.

The club aims to give back to the community and to make the school environment a better place for both Mustangs and others.

Most members join in September; however, students can join during the year. Some of the new events are announced at the meetings and sign-ups can be found outside Sugalski’s room, room 587.

Anyone who has questions or is interested in Lakewood Leaders can talk to Sugalski in room 587 or by email at sugalskm@manateeschools.net.
