(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- As the Holiday season rolls around, and Christmas quickly approaches, the LRHS Chorus program prepares for a trip to Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center to perform at the “Candlelight Processional” event.

Though they will only be preforming on Sunday night at 5 p.m., the intermediate chorus plans to make the best of their annual trip by spending Monday at Magic Kingdom.

“Candlelight” started on Nov. 22 and will come to an end on Dec. 30. This is a major holiday celebration at Walt Disney World, comprising celebrity narrators, a 50-piece orchestra, massed choir, and, of course, the LRHS chorus.

The chorus has attended in previous years, most recently in 2017. Last year’s celebrity, Chandra Wilson, narrated as the chorus sung. This year, Academy Award winner Whoopi Goldberg is scheduled to read as the chorus preforms, just as she did in 2015.

“We have been spending the whole year preparing for this event,” said Intermediate Chorus member Elizabeth Hescock, sophomore. This will be her first year participating in the celebration and said her favorite part will be visiting Disney in itself.
