(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The holidays have finally arrived…and today people are celebrating National Cookie Day. LRHS students and teachers have their different opinions about their favorite types of cookies.

LRHS junior Emma Brooks shared,” My favorite type of cookie would have to be the sugar cookies with rainbow sprinkles from Publix. I also prefer cookies over cupcakes because I do not like icing. If I had to have any dessert, I would choose macaroons from Epcot at Disneyworld.”

Every country makes their own signature cookies. The cookie that people voted to be the best in the world is from Germany. Germany makes an incredible spice cookie called Pfeffernusse, and has been ranked as the best cookie in the world.

LRHS social Studies teacher Brian Ross shared,” My favorite cookies are the ‘E.L. Fudge’ cookies. If I had to choose between cookies and cupcakes, I would pick cookies, because they make less of a mess on my face. My favorite dessert is red velvet cake from Publix because it’s really good.” he later added, “Now I feel like I need some.”

America’s favorite cookie was, not surprisingly, the Oreo. Oreo’s have been America’s favorite cookie for a long time and are a staple of school lunch boxes across the country. America voted that the Oreo Golden Birthday Cake was best in the U.S.

Math teacher Amy Adams says,” If I had to choose any cookie, it would be fresh, hot, out of the oven, chocolate chip cookies and for dessert, brownies with cookies and cream ice cream.”

As the Cookie Monster said,” Today we live in the moment unless it’s unpleasant in which case me will eat a cookie.”
