Brenna Rademaker – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The 2018-19 varsity and junior varsity (JV) girls’ soccer teams have all new coaching staff. The varsity girls are now led by head coach Delaney Riggins, assistant coach Aubrey Riggins, and trainer Angelo Orlando. JV has head coach Paul Fullylove.
Riggins previously played for LRHS girls’ soccer with her sister Aubrey and continued to play at Florida Southern College. After she graduated from Florida Southern, she came back to LRHS and now teaches Early Childhood Education.
Delaney said, “The fact that I played for the varsity team here for four years really helps me connect with the program and the girls in general. I am hoping to bring a new and fresh perspective to the team, seeing that I am a young female and can relate to a lot of the experiences the players are going through.
“My goal for the players this season is to walk out of every training session and game knowing that every single person has put in 100% effort. My first goal is to come out on top in the district tournament.”
JV coach Fullylove grew up living and breathing soccer. He coached a treble winning season at county level in the South of England which was only done previously in 1947. He then moved to the US from the UK and reached the finals of his region his first year coaching his current team.
Fullylove said, “England’s and my approach are more traditional and will progress the team to a new understanding of the game and its roots. From this season’s JV team, the expectations are simple. We work, then we work harder from the first whistle to the last. My job is to help every player gain skill, strength, and most importantly confidence.”
