Corinna Lunsford – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) participated in their district meeting Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Members traveled to a conference to meet and plan with their district chapters. The day included energizers, elections, lunch, bonding activities, reflecting, and planning. This meeting is held once a year to connect all the members and get more involved.
This year the district participated in a state community service project called “Books for a Better Future.”
Each member brought a book to donate to the districts in the Florida panhandle affected by Hurricane Michael. Chapters collected over 100 books to help the schools.
LRHS junior Chris Holmes and two-year FCCLA member said, “The atmosphere felt like home and I had so much fun with all my friends.”
LRHS junior Morgan Kirchman, State President-elect shared, “This is the first meeting of the year and it was so awesome to see everyone from the district come together. Being there as a state officer was nostalgic, as my first officer position in FCCLA was as a district officer!”
