Brenna Rademaker – Mustangs Ahead

Academics(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Many schools have exceptional athletes, however not all schools have athletes that are also exceptional students.  LRHS Mustangs are excelling in the classroom.

The Florida High School Athletics Association (FHSAA) reports LRHS Fall team sports GPAs are among the top of the schools in Florida.

The LRHS football team is first in the class 7A schools with a GPA of 3.407.

LRHS boys cross country is third in the state for the class 4A schools with a GPA of 3.722.  The girls cross country is fourth with a GPA of 3.883.

Boys golf is tenth in the state with a GPA of 3.600 and girls volleyball is first in the class 8A schools with a GPA of 3.715.

LRHS head football coach Christopher Culton said, “We’re getting it done it the classroom, our next step is to get it done on the field.”

The FHSAA enters every member of each teams’ GPA into the average, as long as that student participated in at least one district game.

For fall teams, the athletes’ GPAs from the previous spring semester are used.
