Ngov said, “I had a really great time. I went in eighth grade and it was even better the second time around. The workshops really taught me how to be a better and more effective leader. I hope I can go back next year.”

In the workshops, officers learned about friendship, how to be an effective leader, how to communicate with members efficiently, vulnerability, and more.

Willis said, “It was a lot colder than anyone expected it to be. Some of the workshops were outside, and with the weather being in the low 40s, they felt like they took longer than they did. It was still a fun time though. My favorite thing about the conference was meeting the officers from other schools.”

The officers had the opportunity to participate in recreational activities such as basketball, volleyball, and soccer during their free time. The conference also held a nightly campfire for officers to attend.

Willis stated, “The campfire was probably my favorite part because it was a fun way to warm up. We also made smores, and just hung out with other officers who attended the conference. I’d definitely attend the conference again”
