Chloe Nelson – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS band finished their marching season on Nov. 16 at the Tropicana Dome, placing ninth in the state’s 5A class. After months of hard work and planning, the band is proud of how far they’ve come since July.
Seniors are sad to see their last season end, but extremely proud of their accomplishments in their high school careers.
“We’ve worked so hard for five months, and I’m super proud of color guard and their work ethic to do better every practice,” said senior Mackenzie Brielmann.
Senior Riley Stewart is going to miss his friends in drumline and the bond they have. “Having a close bond with everyone in my section has helped the drumline strive for excellence, and it got us third place, too,” Stewart added.
Senior Grace Hagopian is sad to see her year end but happy she met so many wonderful people. “I’ll miss the people in band the most, everyone is so kind and funny. I’ll especially miss all the good times the band makes throughout the season.”
Hagopian is also very proud of the band’s performance, regardless the end results.
“The band had the best run we have ever had on States day, but sometimes things don’t go our way,” she said. “We pushed together and rallied through a long and hard season, and we did the best we could,” she said.
The band’s next event will be a series of skits and pieces for their prism concert on Dec. 13 in the auditorium.
