Lindsey Limbach – Mustangs Ahead

cropped-lrhs-logo-2000-x-2000(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Most Mustangs are familiar with the “Lakewood Live” morning announcement broadcast but may not realize how much work goes into producing usable video.

In TV production 1 students are currently working on a school appropriate music video spoof. In this class your projects do not go on the announcements unless it is really good quality and the teacher, Jessica Pellicone approves.

I am currently enrolled in this class and the song we chose for this project is “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. Although the song runs for almost six minutes, we managed to create new school related lyrics that Mustangs can relate to.

The parody features me and sophomore Emily Spillman as singers on the track. Spillman sings positive things about her school experience whereas I sing more negative things.

Don’t be fooled, it may seem easy but the process of making a great parody is very difficult. Spillman and I found ourselves using an entire period to record our voices, but we didn’t end up with anything usable.

By the end of it Spillman said, “I’m not in the right mindset to keep doing this,” and “Never play Bohemian Rhapsody around us again.”

Although the project isn’t finished yet, it is by far the most difficult and requires the most effort.
