Shipley Donuts Fundraiser

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS administration and business partners are trying to beautify one of the school’s most notable areas.   They plan to construct a Zen Garden at the center portion of the 500 building.

LRHS discipline dean Susan O’Brien and assistant principal Jeanne Galindo are heading the project.

O’Brien estimates the job will cost $10,000.

To help raise money, the school is holding a fundraiser November 12 and 13 at Shipley’s Doughnuts, 6571 State Road 70, Bradenton. Shipley’s sells doughnuts along with other treats such as their unique sausage and cheese Kolaches.

O’Brien stated that “with the funds raised, the school plans to pull up the grass located in the garden and replace it with rocks and a barrier.”

O’Brien said the plan is to create a low-maintenance garden that maintains itself.
