clubs(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS French students are already preparing to compete from March 7-9 in Congrès, an annual French competition held in Orlando.

French teacher Corrine Battani is helping her students study for the competition. Battani said, “It’s a French language competition where students will compete with their speaking skills as well as reading and writing.”

The competition holds many events for students such as “projet” (project) and “discours-causerie” (interview). The variety allows for students to choose what they enjoy most and show off their skills in that category. The students will also compete at different times depending on their category and skill level.

Sophomore Kris Condon said, “I am competing in ‘projet’, I get to combine my knowledge of French culture and love of art.”

Anyone with questions or who is interested in competing, please contact Battani at (941) 727-6100 ext. 2098 or in room 555.
