Seniors icon(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – With graduation just months away, LRHS seniors are searching for colleges to further their academic and athletic careers. While many are still searching for the right fit, some LRHS athletes have already found a home for the fall of 2019.

Drew Mitts has committed to play football at St. Olaf College in Minnesota.

Madison Koczersut, Madison Schaefer, Emily Hughes, and Alexis Schwab have all chosen to play softball at the State College of Florida.

Koczersut said, “I have been playing softball since I was 4. It has been a dream of mine to play in college.”

Grant McCray has decided to play baseball at Florida State University.

While some already know where they are going, other athletes are undecided about where they would like to attend.

Swimmers Keelysta Radloff and Sebastian Aguirre are both considering a few schools.

Runner Jonathan Reid is still deciding where he wants to run at for the next four years.

Reid said, “I’ve been running competitively since ninth grade. When I started, I never had any big goals for running. If you told me four years ago that I’d be running collegiately, I would have said you were crazy. Now, I would love to run in college but am undecided on where I am going. I feel everything has come full-circle and am excited to see where running takes me next.”

Hajar Benjoud has received offers for multiple schools but is not sure where should would like to attend.

Benjoud said, “I’ve been playing soccer for about 14 years and when I was younger, I always just assumed I would play in college because I loved it so much.”
