(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- After a successful performance at the Braden River Florida Marching Band Regional Competition (FMBC) last Saturday, the LRHS band won multiple awards.

The Marching Mustangs took home first place in their 4A division and first place overall in the competition, along with best music, best percussion, best general effects, best visuals, and best color guard. The band was given a score of 79.85 out of 100.

This is the highest score the band has gotten this year so far, and Mustangs are proud of how far they’ve come this year.

Junior Kenzie Beck loves the feelings after performing. “Stepping off the field after a good run gives you such a rush of adrenaline and pride,” Beck said.

Band director Ron Lambert is very proud of the band and their performance.

“We’ve no doubt gotten better since Bands of America (BOA), and we can only continue to grow until finals,” Lambert said.

The band is performing at the away game this Friday at Sarasota High School and hosting the annual Musical Performance Assessment (MPA) on Saturday at LRHS.
