(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- This Friday marks what may be the most competitive and school spirited football game of the year – the LRHS vs. Braden River High School (BRHS) game.

BRHS is LRHS’ main rival because they are so close to each other.  The Pirates and the Mustangs have been competitive rivals in every sport.

Senior Rory Atkins said, “I’m really excited for my last rival game and we are going to go out and do our best.”

There is a tailgate at 6 p.m. before the game with free hotdogs, chips and water.  It will also have games like cornhole and ladder ball.

The game will be a “Black Out” so Mustangs are encouraged to school spirt at 7:30 this Friday at LRHS.

The LRHS varsity football team lost last Friday’s home district game against the Palmetto Tigers, 69-0.

Sophomore linebacker Kade Reyher suffered a tailbone injury and will be inactive for at least one game.

Senior defensive lineman Nick Bottorff said, “The score might not have shown it, but the team is getting better.”

Senior Rory Atkins said, “We’re getting better on ball security.”
