(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This past Saturday, 37 LRHS swimmers competed at the Tri-County Championships in Sarasota.

Out of the 17 teams in attendance, the boys team placed sixth and the girls team placed fourth.

Head coach Julie Santiago was very pleased with both teams’ performances.

“I am very proud of all our swimmers, especially those who came after taking the SAT (The Scholastic Aptitude Test was offered Saturday). Not only did most of our swimmers get season best times, but personal best times as well,” she said. “This was a great way to come back after our county win last Saturday.”

Senior Bella Yost said, “Although it wasn’t my best meet, I still enjoyed racing and cheering on my teammates.”

For some of the LRHS swimmers, this was their last meet of the season. The swimmers who qualified for the district cut will continue to train until their district championship meet on Saturday, Oct. 26.
