College visits, tests on the way

Academics(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS college-bound Mustangs have some upcoming deadlines important to their post high school experience.

Some important dates include the college visits, the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), the American College Testing (ACT) assessment and scholarship opportunities.

Representatives from the University of Central Florida were at the school Tuesday afternoon.

The County College Fair starts at 6 p.m. on Oct. 2 at Manatee Technical College.

Stetson University will be coming at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 4 in room 611.

Florida State University will be at LRHS at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the media center.

University of Alabama representatives will be on campus at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 18.

Dartmouth College will be here at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Both juniors and seniors also need to pay attention to SAT and ACT dates. Juniors can begin taking these exams for college and seniors need to make sure they have taken it and are happy with their scores before they run out of time.

SAT and ACT test date registrations start on Sept. 28 and goes all year with test every month of the school year up until May 3.  Both tests have a registration fee of $30 and $50 for the written portion for both tests. Mustangs can register for these tests at
