(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS Key Club members volunteered with “Stuff the Bus” this past weekend. About 20 members came out and helped at this charitable event.

“Seeing a community work together is a really beautiful thing,” said junior and Key Club vice president Lindsey Hyer. Hyer was in-charge of assigning jobs and collecting everyone’s paperwork for this event.

Members were busy separating and organizing the food in different boxes and sorting them into place on the bus hoping that nothing would break or open. Donated items included canned goods, taco shells, boxes of pasta, and jars items, such as peanut butter and jelly.

“Stuff the Bus” was able to collect hundreds of boxes thanks to the help of the Lakewood Ranch community. As each costumer entered the store they were given a flyer with a list of all the food “Stuff the Bus” was looking for including canned food, beans, cereal, and pasta.

Key Club was very happy watching their first big event of the school year be such a success.
