Madison Aker – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Under challenging circumstances, LRHS has wrapped up what Student Government Association (SGA) members say was a successful Spirit Week and Homecoming.
SGA adviser Heather Kasper is very pleased with the outcome.
“I feel that everything went great, especially considering it was such a short amount of time,” she said. “Usually we have a few more weeks to prepare, but this year our Homecoming was very soon. Our members were able to get it ready and make it happen in such a short amount of time. It was overall a very successful outcome.”
Spirit Week began Mon. Sept. 10 and ended with Spirit Day on Fri. Sept. 14. The Homecoming dance took place on Sat. Sept. 15 at LRHS.
Students had a great time over the week.
Senior Paris Pratt shared, “Personally, my favorite activity was Clash of the Classes. I loved playing dodgeball and the seniors dominated everyone. ‘We Go Together’ Wednesday and Spirit Day were by far the best.”
Homecoming was a special memory for senior students.
“It was my last Homecoming,” said senior Maddie Koczersut, “and being able to spend it with my friends made it worthwhile. It was so fun, especially when people started crowd surfing.”
Kasper also added, “Many kids didn’t participate the first two days. Although by Wednesday, the hallways were filled with crazy outfits and almost everyone on Friday had LRHS spirit. I look forward to next year. We always keep the Thursday as Class Color Day and Friday as Spirit Day, but we like to change the other three days.”
