(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Saturday, Sept. 15., the LRHS Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Raider teams competed in the first Raider meet of the season.

The women’s team placed first in Tire Flip, Rope Bridge, and the 5k run; They placed second in the Raider Fitness Challenge and took first place overall.

Senior Kendyl Brahler, the JROTC battalion commander, said the women’s team is especially impressive.

“Our ladies are a really great team. We work very well together, we gave it everything we had,” she said.

The men’s team placed third in Tire Flip and Rope Bridge.

Sophomore Steven Spicer said, “We did well, but we’re working on coming together more as a team.”

The mixed team didn’t place at this meet, but they set a new personal best on Saturday.

Sophomore Kora Turner, a member of the mixed team said, “I think we did really good at the meet, but we still need to work on communicating better at practice.”
