Steven Bracco – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Some students at LRHS may use the use the school library for only two things, signing out their textbooks at the beginning of the year and returning them at the end of the year. What they may not know is what the library does during the year.
Students can also use the library to print work, or work on homework that they may have missed or forgotten about.
LRHS media specialist Jill Mullins said, “The library can be used for an assortment of things like a place to read, research, print work, socialize, and especially a place for testing.”
Mullins also said, “We try to make the library a welcoming place for all students, especially newer students who feel overwhelmed during their first couple of days at LRHS.”
The library is open from 7:10 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. and has all kinds of resources. Students can access books, computers, and other things like DVDs and cassettes for teachers.
Throughout the year, the library is also the location of many online tests. Over the summer, the library is used mostly as a storage facility for things like TVs and laptops that can’t be left in classrooms, but students also make-up classes there over the summer.
