Individually, LRHS senior Johnny Reid placed first with a time of 15:58, also setting a record for the Punta Gorda course.

Senior varsity runner Gino Navas described the course.

“The race course was very hot and long,” he said.  “It was like a spiral in the sense that we had to run the same loop three times which got kind of boring, but it was also nice to see all the other races in front of and behind you. It was also very muddy, we ran on a big open field, so it was uneven and with all the rain it made it wet and muddy, so it felt like you were barely able to move.”

JV runner freshman Elise Dunn said, “Since it was the second meet of the season I didn’t really know what to expect. The previous meet was a smaller race with about 8 teams so when I saw 20 teams were racing I was a little nervous. In the start of the race it was a little overwhelming with so many people but after everyone got settled in people started to spread out and It wasn’t a big deal.”
