Academics(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) –  On Saturday, Sept. 15 the Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) rally will take place at Braden River High School. The rally is designed to inspire, unify, and motivate Manatee county school’s CTSO groups, and includes a guest speaker and a school spirit competition.

The rally also includes an optional canned food drive, with students asked to deliver donations before the rally begins near the registration area.

“It helps students realize just how big and far CTSOs can take them,” said attendee and LRHS Technology Students Association adviser Ben Long. “They realize how many students are with them in their CTSOs at the rally.”

Multiple LRHS clubs will be attending the rally, including the TSA, the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), the Future Farmers of America (FFA), the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

“We go to learn how to be a better leader and how to better serve our club” said HOSA vice president and junior Nicolette Ngov, who will be attending the rally for her fourth time.

“I am very excited to be one of the co-hosts for the CTSO rally,” said LRHS FCCLA president and junior Morgan Kirchman, who is one of the rally’s hosts. “I think it will be cool to go from attending last year as a member to this year as a host!”

LRHS FCCLA adviser and early childhood education teacher Elaine Bowling said, “I am so happy that my members want to attend the rally. It is so great to see students participating.”

Students attending the rally should arrive at Braden River High School at 8:00 a.m. and should expect the rally to end at noon. Students are asked to wear business-appropriate or club attire.
