Nolan Carpenter and Peter Fisichella – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS students had their first pep rally of the year today during lunch. All band members and cheerleaders performed around the cafeteria to raise Mustang spirits before Friday’s Homecoming game.
Sophomore Joseph Giannone liked the band aspect of the pep rally.
“I like hearing the band when I am walking into the lunchroom,” Giannone said.
Sophomores Ella DeRosa liked the hype it brings to the lunch period.
“It brings a lot of excitement to the day,” she said.
The major thing brought to the pep rallies is school spirit. Sophomore Ayden Delk said, “I think it’s cool that they do it for school spirit.”
Senior and varsity cheerleader Renee Ashby said, “I enjoy trying to bring more spirit to my school and hope that this continues in future years.”
The pep rally wraps up LRHS’ spirit week and starts Homecoming weekend, with the football game beginning at 7:30 p.m. tonight and the homecoming dance from 8-11 p.m. tomorrow. The football game will be at home against the Venice Indians and there will also be a tailgate and a hot dog eating contest before the game.
