Academics(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Peer Tutoring is starting up again and this year it will be offered from 6:50 to 7:30 a.m. every Thursday, starting Sept. 13, in the media center.

Peer tutoring is chance for students to help other students who are struggling with homework and studying for upcoming tests.

Though the students typically meet on Thursdays, if this doesn’t fit a student’s schedule they can make an appointment by emailing LRHS keyboard teacher and peer tutoring adviser Rebekah Lester, who will find a way to give students the help they need by finding a tutor that can help at a different time.

Lester believes this program is important because it gives students the opportunity to help their peers. “I feel passionate that students are able to share their talents with the school,” she said.

Mustangs interested in the program can contact Lester at (941)-727-6100 x2070 or email her at lesterr@manateeschools.net. Anyone interested in being a tutor can also attend a meeting on Thursday in room 517.
