Isabella Estrada and Corinna Lunsford– Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Monday marked the first day of LRHS’ 2018 Homecoming spirit week, Disney vs. Nickelodeon day. Many Mustangs did not disappoint, including senior Madison Schneider who dressed up as Sally from “A Nightmare before Christmas.”
“My own costume is my favorite,” Schneider said. “I spent two hours on it and it was completely worth it. I also enjoyed seeing everyone else’s costumes!”
Another costume that was hard to go unnoticed belonged to senior Brady Roberts, who dressed as Olaf from “Frozen.”
“I liked the movie ‘Frozen’ when it came out, so Olaf seemed like a good choice. I also knew I had to go all out since it’s my senior year,” Roberts said.
Members of Student Government Association (SGA) organized homecoming week and because of this take their costumes very seriously.
SGA member, junior Owen Ingham said, “My favorite costume I’ve seen today was Keon Buckly’s. He dressed as Frozone from ‘The Incredibles’ and it was great. I also enjoyed making the posters and getting supplies with the other members of SGA.”
This year LRHS went all out to show their school spirit. Junior Ben Dunn said, “My favorite part of this day is definitely how crazy the costumes get!”
Tuesday’s theme is “Tacky Tourist” and “Red, White, and Blue” so Mustangs can grab Hawaiian shirts or patriotic gear and show school spirit.
