clubs(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) had their second meeting of the year on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Club president Morgan Kirchman, junior, went over the upcoming events for members and encouraged them to attend. These events offer volunteer opportunities for members.

Secretary sophomore Emma Tullio said there is promise for the club this year. “I thought [our second meeting] went great. Everyone was super excited and looked motivated.”

FCCLA is preparing to attend a Career and Technical Student Organizations rally in September. The rally gives members a chance to meet other students that are also in a career or technological based club.

New member, sophomore Julia Kuehn, is willing and eager to participate in events this year and compete for FCCLA. “It was fun and I’m looking forward to be a part of this club,” said Kuehn.

The meetings are held every first and third Wednesday of the month. They take place in room 619 with adviser LRHS early childhood education teacher Elaine Bowling. Anyone interested in joining can stop by Bowling’s room for details, or attend the next meeting, which is after school on Sept. 19.
