(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This year, LRHS welcomes a new girls soccer coach following in her sister’s footsteps.
Delaney Riggins has been a soccer player since she was four years old, playing at Braden River Soccer Club. She continued her soccer career in middle school, playing for the West Florida Flames at age 14.
Last year, Riggins’ older sister was the LRHS varsity soccer coach. “I guess you can say soccer runs in the family,” said Riggins.
Riggins played on the LRHS varsity soccer team all four years of high school, becoming captain her senior year.
After high school, Riggins continued playing soccer at Florida Southern College.
“After college, I just did a full circle back to LRHS, coaching the team I once played for,” Riggins stated.
Riggins has already held the first soccer meeting of the season, met all the girls and became excited for try outs, which begin on Oct. 22.
