Bella Sellmer – Mustang ahead

Sports(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Friday night the LRHS volleyball girls had their first away game of the season at Port Charlotte High School.

Junior varsity (JV) battled the pirates first and played a good game but lost 0-2.

Varsity was up next playing a great game, the girls fought extremely hard and lost 1-3.

Coach Perri Hankins said, “The volleyball team competed well on their first non-conference volleyball trip…to Port Charlotte. We are happy with our different lineups which give us a varied offense. This will prepare us to win our second district match against powerhouse Manatee High school away on Thursday.”

The next volleyball game will be Tuesday, Sept. 4 away against Manatee High School. Both JV and varsity will play.

Then on Wednesday, Sept. 5, JV and varsity will host St. Stephens High School.

Both games are district matches.
