Brady Roberts and Tamara Sinn – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Eight years have passed since LRHS head varsity track coach and science teacher Mark Napier started working at the Ranch. Now that all three of his children have graduated and moved on to new chapters in their lives, he has decided it is time for him to do the same.
Napier is leaving LRHS. His last day at the school will be Friday, Aug. 31.
Before coming to LRHS, Napier coached track for 20 years at the collegiate level. Since taking the job at LRHS, he’s become a favorite of the students and faculty.
When asked on his time at LRHS Napier said, “I wanted to say thanks to you to all of you that have been a part of my boys and my Lakewood Ranch experience. My family and I moved here eight years ago, and we chose Lakewood Ranch specifically for its community, academic excellence and athletics. All three of our boys had great experiences here and have moved on to college academic and athletic endeavors.”
Napier was especially grateful to LRHS athletic director coach Shawn Trent. He wanted to thank Trent for believing in him and giving him the opportunity to work and coach for the school.
“I truly appreciate the great people we have at LRHS and want to especially thank our administration for making this a great place to work. Coach Trent has been a good friend, colleague and great boss to work for,” said Napier.
Just because Napier is leaving LRHS it doesn’t mean the end of his coaching career.
He will continue his coaching career at IMG Academy in Bradenton as the director of track and field. He will start his new journey next Tuesday, Sept. 4.
As a final message to LRHS, Napier said, “Have a great school year and thanks again to all of you that have made this a great experience for me and my family.”
