Rachel Monroe– Mustangs Ahead

Sports(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Mustang Softball had their first meeting of the school year on Tuesday Aug. 22 and even though the season is months away, the team is ready to take the field.

Head coach T.J. Goelz let all players know that they will be hosting a mini-camp for kids ages 7-8 and 9-10 who play recreational softball for the Miss Manatee softball camp.

Anyone who wants to try out for softball in January is welcome to come out from 6-7:45 p.m. on Monday to help give back to future Mustangs and help host the camp.

“When I was little I went to all of the Mustang softball camps, and now it’s refreshing to give back to the young softball players that I used to be” said sophomore Jillian Herbst.

Director of softball operations Maggie Sharrer and Goelz ran the meeting.
