Bella Sellmer – Mustangs ahead

Sports(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- All three LRHS volleyball teams opened their regular seasons Thursday night at home against the Charlotte High School Tarpons.

The freshman team hit the court first, winning their first and second sets and taking the win 2-0.

The junior varsity (JV) team played next and the girls fought hard but lost both sets.

Varsity played the last game of the night and were unable to bring home the win, losing 1-3.

Senior Madison Koczersut said, “We started out rough, but then as we got more into the game the more we battled. Yes, we may have lost, but it was a good game and I’m excited to see where we go this season.”

The next game is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday at the Ranch and it will be a freshman and JV tournament.

Sophomore Julia Kuehn said, “I’m very excited to play this weekend alongside some of my closest friends, I’m also very confident that we will win all of our games.”
