(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Mustangs are looking forward to the football team’s first home game of the season, Friday, Aug. 24 against Ida Baker High School. For many freshmen, this is their first high school football game.

Freshman Frank Runge is getting exited for the upcoming game.

“I hope our team does well this season. I’m excited to show school spirit,” he said.

For those who have been to games in the years past, they are excited for the promise this season shows.

Sophomore Maddy Kahler shows her enthusiasm for her first home game as a varsity cheerleader.

“I am excited for my first home football game. I’m looking forward to showing my school spirit,” she said, “and we are thrilled to be showing off our stunts and cheers to the students.”

LRHS head football coach Chris Culton is expecting big things from his players. When reflecting on last Friday’s 35-0 win over Osceola High, Culton said he was “most happy with all of the improvements we made. We got better at a lot of positions, but we still have a way to go.”

The game is going to be a green-out, so Culton urges Mustangs to wear green to show school spirit. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
