(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LHRS Key Club’s first meeting started out with a great turnout. With over 50 new members joining, Key Club is finally starting to feel well-recognized as a club.
“I think the best part of Key Club is the sense of accomplishment after the events,” said Key Club president Gabrielle Carroll, junior.
They started the meeting by talking about the rules and regulations of the club and how every member is required get at least 50 hours by the end of each school year. Members were also warned that if they sign up for an event they cannot back out at the last minute.
Key Club seniors who get 70 hours of community service through club events get to wear a recognition cord at graduation.
Key Club is making this a year full of fundraising, publicity, going to banquets all over Florida, and helping with school events.
The LRHS Key Club meetings will be after school at 2:45 p.m. every other Tuesday in room 509.
