The Marching Mustangs play their way to success last season

Meeting new people, learning new music, and creating choreography is all part of the preparations for the upcoming season.

The 2018-19 LRHS band show, VIRTUEosity, is about a young girl trying to become a master pianist. The band hopes to go to finals this year and place in the top five bands in the state.

Junior Kenzie Horner is excited for the new show and hopes to finish first in the state this year.

“I was so disappointed in our placement last year, but I know the work we put in during this summer will pay off,” she said.

Junior Shannon Ray was thankful for the summer practices, because it helps with personal behavior, “The practices helped spread positive attitudes for the season.”

The band’s first performance will be at halftime on Friday, Aug. 24 during the football game.
