(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Tueday morning LRHS freshman gathered in the auditorium and discussed topics such as disciplinary consequences and different procedures that are vital to anyone new at LRHS.
Freshman Lucas Brown said, “They discussed topics such as safety and lockdown drills. It’s a real problem and we have to take these drills seriously.”
School administrators went into detail about the ID policy and how important it is to understand it to keep everyone safe at school. Dress code was also discussed. Students are expected to adhere to it.
Freshman Hanna Wahlers said, “It’s weird that we can’t have our phones in our back pockets, but I understand why they instituted this rule.”
The freshmen are acclimating to the Ranch and are overall enjoying their first days in a new environment.
“Some new things that I like about this school compared to my last is that I like getting to sit where I want, have nicer food in the cafeteria, and that is seems bigger but in a way the people make it feel smaller,” said freshman Julia Sammons.
Other grade-level meetings will take place throughout the week, with the sophomore meeting today at 1:00 p.m. and the junior meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, and the senior meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
