Mustangs head to class on day one of the 2018-19 school year

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The first day of school can be a terrifying, yet exciting, experience for students.

In a school as large as LRHS, with almost 2400 students, the first days back can be especially intimidating.

For junior Keon Buckley “school is really nerve-racking.”  It’s especially hard on the first day, having to try to find classes and friends to sit by at lunch.

Though some people may be nervous, there are some Mustangs who cannot wait for the rest of this school year.

Senior Annabelle Peck is happy with her first day, “It’s going great and I got really good classes.”

Freshman Konstantino Papageorgiou said, “High school is a really great opportunity and I’m feeling very confident about the years to come.”

Some students even find joy in helping others on their first day. Sophomore Hailie Bechler said, “It feels super good to help the freshman find their classes and find their way around the school.”

LRHS Principal Craig Little said day one of 2018-19 went very well.

“There is no question that this was the smoothest first day that I have ever experienced,” he said.  “It was great to see all hands on deck helping students find their way around campus.”
