Corinna Lunsford – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)-  The LRHS Key Club’s year has ended with their annual banquet. The event started at 6:30 p.m. on May 9 in the school’s cafeteria. Catering was done by Manatee Technical College.

During the banquet, the club gave out awards to current members and inducted the board members for next year.

Club advisor Terry Thompson said, “I look forward to witnessing what these amazing students will accomplish.”

Key Club president Rebekah Merrill, junior, said, “The Lakewood Ranch Key Club has had an amazing year, growing from 15 members to 67 since last year. Our cumulative hours exceeded 2,000 between all our members. [LRHS Principal] Mr. [Craig] Little allowed our club to have cords and stoles this year, which is incredible. That makes us the first non-academic club that distributes cords and stoles to their seniors to wear at graduation. I hope to have another great year.”

Merrill said Key Club welcome new members and encouraged students to join.
