Olivia Grant – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – More recognition for the state final-four bound LRHS softball team.

The Sarasota-Herald Tribune’s HTPreps program has awarded several from this year’s Mustang team.

Sophomore Avery Goelz is a finalist for player of the year. With a season average of .521, the University of Florida commit had a successful final high school season.

Three Mustangs made first team all-area – Morgan Cummins, senior, Payton Kinney, sophomore, and Brooklyn Lucero, sophomore.

Honorable mentions went to Maddie Korczersut, junior, and Taylor Woodring, sophomore.

HT Preps named first year Mustangs coach T.J Goelz coach of the year.  He led the girls to a district title, tweeting, “So proud of this team! Made it our mission to raise the bar higher, make each detail better, and go further in every aspect of the program. They bought in…they believed.” and are hoping to make it to states with a win in their
