(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- All new and current members of the LRHS marching band came together to march for the last time this year. The LRHS band stepped off as one of the first performers of Saturday’s Desoto Heritage Parade.

Nearly 200,000 people lined the streets of Manatee Avenue to watch the parade. The parade started at 6:30 p.m. from Manatee High School.

The band put their hearts into their performances. With nearly 45 color guard members, a drumline that doubled in size, and many alumni, the band was a large attraction for the crowd.

It was the seniors’ last parade of the season. Many were sad to see another chapter in their life end but are ready for what’s to come.

Senior Cristina Rosabol is appreciative of what band has taught her. “I am glad I joined guard my freshman year, because I learned responsibility, teamwork, and punctuality,” said Rosabol.
