(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Friday night the LRHS flag football Mustangs will play at home against Pinellas Countryside High School for the district championship.

“This has been a long season, but at the end of the day the girls have come together as a unit and have played so well together,” said head coach Elijah Weaver.

“Win or lose, the girls, especially the seniors, have played so well and have amazed me. We have great relationships on both the offense and defense side,” he continued.

Wednesday night the Lady Mustangs won the district semifinal against Braden River High School at home. This game was also a green out for the students.

The Mustangs won 20-12 but was not as close as the score indicates.

Emma Fazio sealed the game with an interception. Weaver recognized her for doing a great job leading both offense and defense.

Friday’s game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
