(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS softball senior night took place at home last Tuesday and it was very moving.

The Mustangs won 12-2 in six innings versus Hillsborough Wesley Chapel. Seniors led the pack as Olivia Danko was 4-4 with two runs scored, Kailey Christian was two for three with a homerun and two RBI’s, Madi Locastro was 2-4 with a homerun and five RBI’s, and Morgan Cummins was 2-4 with an RBI.

The game ended when Locastro hit a walk-off bomb to center field. Locastro said, “The feeling was bittersweet, the win felt good, and the underclassman did a really good job setting up. Overall it was a night to remember and I look forward to post-season to keep the wins rolling in.”

Sophomore Marissa Addison said, “Each of the five seniors have not only been great teammates but great friends who I will miss tons when they go off to college.”

Post-season district playoffs kickoff Tuesday when the Mustangs will take on the Palmetto Tigers at home. The game will begin at 7 p.m. If the Mustangs win this, the next game will be the district finals 7 p.m., Thursday, April 26 at home.

Junior Madison Shaefer said, “I couldn’t be more confident going into districts. We really have a good team this year and I can’t wait to see what post-season brings.”
