(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Camerata Orchestra will perform at the Florida Orchestra Association (FOA) State Concert Music Performance Assessment (MPA) at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at Blake High School in Tampa.

Like the District MPAs in March, the orchestra ensemble will perform in front of a panel of judges and receive a rating based on their technique, musicality, and stage presence. Their straight superior ratings at the first MPAs allowed them to advance to perform at the state level.

Unlike districts, however, there will be no sight-reading at this MPA. Additionally, the students will be adjudicated at a harder and higher level than before.

The orchestra students will perform on stage for adjudication then proceed to another room for a workshop with an adjudicator and perform their student-conducting piece.

“I’m always excited for the bus ride to Tampa and hanging out with everyone at the other school. It’s a lot of fun,” said senior Lauren Parent, who went to state MPAs last year as well.

The LRHS Camerata Orchestra is excited to participate at State MPAs and hope to deliver a great performance to represent our school at the state level.
