Olivia Grant – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Monday morning LRHS seniors received invitations to the senior dinner and information regarding upcoming events.
The “Night in Black and White” graduation dinner is a semi-formal event on 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3 in the LRHS cafeteria, and seniors must RSVP by April 27.
The senior exam schedule was released along with exemption forms, which must be signed by teachers saying students maintained an 80% or higher during their third and fourth quarters. In addition, if a student is exempt from an exam their parents must call attendance, and all seniors must be on campus by the time their exams start.
This Friday will be the last senior privilege opportunity. It will be combined with a meeting in the cafeteria at 8:15, and students will be released with the bell.
Senior privilege cards may be purchased in senior class adviser and LRHS math teacher Ann Fleury’s room both before and after school for $5.
Seniors who did not receive early release forms can pick them up in room 572 as well, and Tuesday is the last day to do so.
Seniors will need both their signed forms and their cards to leave early.
Senior AmeliaBelle Dasovich said, “I’m excited for the last senior privilege, and I appreciate that the school rewards us for coming and working the full four years.”
For graduation, seniors must pay their $40 senior fees to the bookkeepers by April 30. Prices will be raised to $50 from May 1 to May 11. Students also need to return all textbooks. Students will not be able to graduate until cleared by the bookkeepers.
The bookkeepers can be seen Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8-11 a.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday from 1-3 p.m.
Mandatory graduation practices and events will be on Thursday May 17, which is the cap, gown, and ticket pick-up day, scheduled for 2:30-3:30 p.m. Seniors must have their pink slips signed by a bookkeeper to enter the cafeteria to participate.
Graduation practice will be on May 18 at the Bradenton Convention Center. Students must be there at 8:15 within dress code and prepared to stay until 10:30.
Graduation will be the same night starting at 6:30, and doors will close to guests promptly at 6:50. A ticket will be required for entry. Students need to be appropriately dressed; ladies should be in dark colored dresses and black shoes, and men should wear dark ties, plain white collard dress shirts, black shoes, black socks, and black dress pants.
