Ally Ellis – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Thursday the LRHS girls Varsity flag football team lost to the Tigers at Palmetto High School 6-0.

“Throughout the game, we played really well,” said head coach Elijah Weaver.  “Offense was in red zone five times, and defense had a shut out.”

Although the Mustangs did not win, they will still play in the distract playoffs next Wednesday at home against rivals Braden River High School.

The Palmetto game went into double overtime and was a good chance to help the girls prepare for the playoffs.

“Last night was a tough loss, but this season has been a blast. It’s been the first year that we got first place in the South sub division and have the chance to play next week to be distract champs,” Weaver added.

Win or lose, the lady Mustangs have had a memorable season, and look forward to playing against BRHS for the distract title.
