Tanna Cochrane – Mustangs Ahead-
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- As the end of the year approaches, students begin to wonder what their summer will consist of and how they will keep themselves occupied day-to-day.
For Mustangs involved in the LRHS drama department, their summer looks like a busy one. The annual drama camp will take place for the 17th consecutive year. Drama director Roxanne Caravan said, “It is a great program for both kids and high school students, it’s a lot of fun.”
For three weeks, kindergarteners to rising ninth graders will prepare for and practice their performance of “James and the Giant Peach.” Aside from putting the show together, students will also take classes in dance, music, art and, of course, drama.
Junior Marleigh Hall is an LRHS drama student who will volunteer as a camp counselor.
“Theatre has always been very important to me and being able to pass on the passion to younger kids is an amazing opportunity,” she said.
