(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Starting this Friday, the LRHS Student Government Association (SGA) will distribute applications for incoming juniors and seniors for the 2018-2019 school year.
SGA is a junior/senior class that allows students to hold many responsibilities, including promoting school spirit and helping coordinate different events.
Students in SGA are expected to work hard and participate in many school events with spirit.
“People should try out for student government because it is a close group of people with whom you create lasting memories and participate in events that you will remember long after your high school career,” said junior Renée Ashby.
Applications will be handed out in SGA adviser and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher Heather Kasper’s room, 602.
After the application process, students will be scheduled for an interview with the new officer board, who will ask them a series of questions to help the officers determine the new SGA staff.
Ashby added, “The best part of student government has been to be able to support the school that has become my home over the last couple years and work hard while having fun with a great group of involved students.”
