(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Mustangs enjoyed the 2018 Venetian themed prom Friday night. Students danced and had fun making memories with their friends.

Seniors Matthew Dugan and Kailey Carpenter were named prom King and Queen.

Dugan said, “It was really exciting and undeserved, I was not expecting it at all.”  He added, “I didn’t even know I was nominated.”

Carpenter said, “It was really fun and unexpected, thank you to everyone who voted.”

Each said they didn’t know each other prior to winning and it was a great way to end their senior year.

Other students had a great time as well.  Junior Tana Cochrane said, “I really enjoyed myself at prom, and my favorite part was making memories with my friends.”

Junior Advisory Board (JAB) was the group that planned and set up everything for prom. JAB advisor Tana Phelps said, “Everything went as planned and went smoothly.”

Phelps added that JAB has been planning for prom since October and the students did just about everything themselves.  On the day of prom, all JAB members got to the Hyatt Regency Hotel at 9 a.m. to start setting up and left at around 3 p.m. so they could finish their personal preparations.

Phelps thanks all the students for behaving well and dressing in appropriate outfits.  Any students with suggestions for next year can contact her in room 567.
